What inspired me?
A piece of Mosaic Jasper (pictured).
Add drama to your room with this statement abstract painting. Despite the muted colours, this is still a bold painting that will add focus to any room. The soft blue, green, cream and rust colours will pick up other colours in surroundings and unify your home decor.
A palm-sized piece of mosaic jasper at a Rock and Gem Show almost had me breaking into a happy dance. Almost. I'm an introvert. Soft, muted colours, interlocking curves, lines of sparkles.... what's not to love?
I bought it instead, so I could always enjoy it... and happy dance in private.
I've concentrated on the curved shapes, and kept the brushstrokes short to give a mosaic-like appearance. The grey colour looks lovely in reality, but didn't work on the painting. Instead I've used cool blues and greens, which work well against the warmer pinks and ochres.
An abstract pattern of shapes and colours on the stone's lends itself to a statement abstract painting.
Materials and size
Unframed original acrylic painting, with mica flakes, on wooden panel.
Size: 60 x 90cm (24 x 36 inches)Design continues on the edges of the panel.
Panel is 2cm deep.
