What inspired me?

Pieces of Bornite

Commonly known as Peacock Ore, Bornite is a copper laden mineral. When freshly cut it sparkles gold and orange-pink, which tarnishes through purple to turquoise.

How could I not be inspired by something that magical?

I used acrylic gel to create textured panels, then painted them with "interference" colours, which shine brightly as the light catches them. finally I added gold acrylic, drybrushing it so that it caught the peaks of the texture.

A timeline in colour.
